Watercolor Super Box

This wooden box once belonged to my father. It was a humidor for cigars with a fancy purple velvet lining most of which has been concealed by my handiwork. Top tray lifts our for pen storage. Works great! The watercolor sketchbook is an accordion fold, inspired by David Hockney.

Venetian woodcut: this was my souvenir print! On a recent trip to Venezia, shopping for family and friends turned out to be a daunting task. Bombarded with crazy little glass and leather things that were seemingly made in China, I opted for something that I could make. This print is a my rendition of something I saw. In Venice, there are endless possibilities. I want to go back!

Looking at the book!

Here it is, hot off the press, the Sketchbook of Cortona! It took several years to iron-out the myriad details of self publishing, and boy, did I learn a lot. I sent the first batch to the small bookshop in Cortona, Nocentini ‘s, on Via Nazionale, where it will be for sale.
